Christy L. Foley was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court to serve on the Mediator Ethics Advisory Committee (“MEAC”) in 2016. From 2018 until 2020, she serves as the Chair of MEAC.
She also serves as the Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s (“ABA”) Alternative Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) Committee for General Practice & Solo attorneys as well as a member of the ABA’s ADR Publications Review Board.
Ms. Foley is a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit civil and county court mediator. She is also licensed to practice law in both Florida and New York. She specializes in small business and entertainment law. In particular, her practice focuses on contract law, intellectual property law, employment law, disability law, discrimination law, and HOA law.
In addition to conducting mediations (both in-person at the Jax Mediation Center as well as online through E-Mediation Services) and practicing law, Ms. Foley teaches negotiation, mediation, and law to masters degree candidates at Full Sail University.
Ms. Foley obtained her law degree from the City University of New York School of Law, graduating cum laude. She obtained her bachelors degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University, also graduating cum laude.
As a mediator, Ms. Foley is dedicated to giving each party the opportunity to air their concerns. She listens carefully and uses parties’ true desires to facilitate productive conversations.
